A pioneering producer of organic soils and mulches looked to reach a new generation of gardeners by revealing the brand’s early roots in sourcing natural inputs in the Pine Tree State. But Coast of Maine’s expertise in locating its earthly riches also needed to be conveyed in the way the brand now sources new organic material out of state.

Sometimes, a re-vamp to your packaging does not need a complete overhaul. For Coast of Maine, brand equity was a key factor in how we handled this brand’s “glow-up.” The logo carried much weight to the brand, as did the Maine imagery and the colorways. Our challenge was to freshen the brand overall, make the packaging easier to ready, promote our brand macros, and not confuse our already dedicated consumers. We wanted them to reach for the same bag of organic soil they knew and loved without confusion while enticing new customers to pick Coast of Maine.
